Wow, great work!
It would be useful to see a reference picture though.

ok be happy to be the first to vote for this seeing there is already a comment here, I love the traditional sense, it makes me want to see the full image because of the quality, it seems your taking a liking to traditional media, and it seems to agree with you, well done, I love chalk pastels maybe one day I'll post some work I'lve done with them. Good to see you post don't be a stranger.+10

I've been using traditional mediums for nearly 20 years, I've only been using computers for 7. :)

When you do a reproduction, I would suggest posting a link to the original work. Remember that the copyright of the concept belongs to another artist, and besides it is difficult to say wether you did well or not without the reference.

hey there stormcrow...really nice work with the chalk! Those cracks look great and the overall texture looks very authentic to the original style. Look forward to more from you. +8

OK for all those who want a reference.

I searched the net for hours and couldn't find one.

The actual reference I used was taken from a postcard I do not own.

I'm sorry I do not have a copy of the original - it's in the Sistine chapel.
If you get your hands on a photo of the original please post it here for me.

Cheers

Excellent rendering, one really feels like this was done on an old stone, and the colours are so soft...
